Not only was TopOCR more accurate with a jpg of text, it also offered spell checking and a variety of tweaking features to edit the results. However, TopOCR could not import PDF. I'm keeping FreeOCR only because of it's PDF capability. I'll use TopOCR for other OCR tasks. TopOCR can open and perform OCR on any BMP, JPG, GIF or TIFF image and can be used on the Windows desktop. Portable.
