• Clipboard manager  ArchiveClipboard is multi-platform open source and freeware clipboard manager. It doesn't boast many features but it does one job and that is to keep more than one clipboard item stored or archived. When an item is copied it is kept in the top section of the program, subsequent clipboard items bump the previous ones to the lower section where they are archived to be kept forever. Size: 3.7MB. • Clipboard Manager  PhraseExpress is so much more than a clipboard manager, but still the best clipboard manager for usability I've found. Manage your settings in PhraseExpress and apply a hotkey to the clipboard (I chose CTRL-`) and tell it how many clips you want it to manage along with any other choices you have for its settings. Now start copying away. When you are ready, simply open the program you wish to paste the data into and place your cursor where you want each individual clip inserted, call up the hotkey you set for PhraseExpresses clipboard and click on the text you wish to insert and it is automatically inserted at your cursor position. • Clipboard Manager + AutoText  OrangeNote is a text clipping manager for Windows that allows you to store an unlimited number of fully-indexed and taggable text clippings in its database and pull them up at any time with a quick full-text search. You can assign clippings custom hotkeys and paste them into any running program, so commonly-typed things become as quick as a single keystroke. OrangeNote works great as a text backup utility, too. For example, if you're writing out a lengthy reply or post to a web page and want to make sure you don't accidentally lose what you've written, just copy it to the clipboard. Each time you copy, a new note will be created so you can never accidentally "copy over" the text on the clipboard. This great program can replace PhraseExpress, Quotepad, and clipboard managers. • Clipboard Manager  Ethervane Echo is a clipboard manager that sorts clipboard entries into tabs for easier access. Start Echo and it will begin capturing clips. Press Win+Insert (configurable) to bring up the main window. Scroll or find a clip, then press Enter to paste it into the active application window. A search is provided for finding clipboard entries. Clips are automatically sorted by date, with options to change the sorting order to alphabetical, application, use count, length or ID. The right-click menu offers to copy, paste and delete clips, and editing options. All information are stored in it's own database in the program folder. The program creates the database automatically on first run. The database is cleaned up ever 30 days by default, with options to change the frequency of the cleanup in the program preferences. It is even possible to keep the database in memory all the time and not on the computer's hard drive. You can paste multiple clipboard entries at the same time into the active application window, integrate a spell checker (a download is available at the site.) Only captures text. If it is toggled on ClipTrap will collect all copied text and append each new clipboard item to existing ones. • Close All Open Windows  CloseAll lets you close all running applications with just a single click (it will not close apps running in the tray). It works just as if you were pressing the close button for each application but all open apps close instantly. It doesn't use system resources because it only flashes a 'close' signal to all open applications on the desktop and then ceases (you will still get a prompt to save any work that is not saved). You can create a shortcut to the tool in the Start Menu, Quick Launch, Windows 7 Taskbar or elsewhere and add a hotkey to launch this shortcut. If you want to prevent certain applications from being closed, you can add a parameter to the CloseAll.exe command line by Right-clicking the shortcut and choosing Properties from the context menu -> Go to the Shortcut tab, Target and add -x="app-to-exclude.exe" and You can separate multiple values with "|" (pipe). • Screen Dimmer  Le Dimmer is a small application that dims the screen apart from the active window. One great purpose for this program is it helps save battery power. It also helps focus on a particular Window you are using. If you invoke "show Desktop" the desktop will be in focus/bright. If you just minimize all of your windows the desktop will not be in focus. In Windows7 the Show Desktop bar on your taskbar is like a switch for LeDimmer. With everything minimized, you can invoke LeDimmer with a mouseover of the Show Desktop bar, or click it on or off.
